Waiting to pick a flower...

We received an email from an individual at the agency today regarding our paperwork and a few other items. Figured I would share a portion of it with you all.

"I also wanted to let you know that we recognize that things are pushing the time frame for getting these documents. In talking with one of our adoption experts (expert on the CCAA) there is no good reason why we have not received any information. Which leads me to offer this…The Chinese sense of time is different than ours and in fact they (the CCAA) does not really work with time fames in mind (i.e. We need to get all of these travel letters out this month). Or it could be that our request was at the bottom of the pile, or it could be that the person processing the paper was sick all last week or it could be that they have tens of thousands of documents to sort through and that just takes time. I wish I could offer you more in the process, but I have come to embrace the Chinese proverb when it comes to dealing with government agencies:Pick the flower when it is ready to be picked. This fits well with my Christian belief that God is in control and that there is a perfect time for everything...including picking flowers. No news yet... Signed ______"

So, here we sit at the edge of the garden... Maybe tomorrow..

It has been a week since I last posted so, I figured I should update everyone on all the news. Actually, I am posting about our lack of news! Well, "TA's" (travel approvals) should have been here by now. This waiting is driving us crazy - not quite as crazy as the wait for our referral, however. With Morgan in school from 8-3, the house is very quiet. This being the case, it gives me more time to dwell on the fact that we have no information about when we are going to be traveling. I have tried to channel my energy into a couple of projects that I have been wanting to do for years. Organizing and labeling pictures, organizing and burning cd's for the digital pictures, and packing for the trip. Why is it that I don't automatically take care of this stuff once I get the pictures developed? Guess what I will do from now on...After these projects are complete, I hope to organize the recipe binder. Yes, I love to organize, but between the pictures and recipes you wouldn't know it. Enough of my jabbering! Signing out until TA's are received!

Tickled Pink!

Guess what we have been doing...Yes, we have done a little shopping for Rylee. Pink, pink, everywhere! We have had a great time picking out clothes and bows. Since our referral, a lot has been happening in the Reagle household -- Morgan starting school, a very last minute surgery for me, the opening of a new academic year for Mike at the university updating adoption paperwork, and attempting to pack for our trip. (Oh, by the way, Morgan's independence regarding school only lasted 3 days. We had two EXTREMELY rough mornings. After a little family meeting, all has been well.) Never a dull moment! We hope to have our travel dates by the end of next week. The time is growing near! We are constantly talking about Rylee and every now and again one of us will say..."I wonder what Rylee is doing right now". We can't wait to meet her!!
